A & A Pagliai's Pizza

This neighborhood pizzeria seems to be a staple for the locals with many grabbing 2-3 pies to go. Their menu is refreshingly short, a couple staples of build your own. Crisp crust, generous toppings, don’t miss this gem.

This is a quintessential restaurant experience in Iowa City! If you have to wait to be seated it's worth every second...because you will be rewarded with flavor and atmosphere. The place has changed very little in all the years of operation and the recipes still hold up as classic and delicious. The perfect style of thin and slightly crisped crust, and with garlic at the table for a topping, this is the best! A very busy visit after an Iowa Football game, but the team was tremendous and the "Palace Special" pizza came quickly and was served with a welcoming vibe. This is the generational dining experience unseen in many places anymore and worth the time! Carry out some frozen pizzas in the front case as we did and enjoy the best in pizza at home too. Absolute must visit location when in town.

Great old-school pizza parlor experience. The restaurant decor, staff outfits, open kitchen and even the cash register make it feel like you're back in the 1950s. But the pies are delicious. Everything is basically build-your-own, and they even have broccoli as a topping option (my favorite). Crust, sauce and cheese were all good. Also have a couple beers on tap including Easy Eddy. Will be back.

You simply cannot beat original Paglai's. A true Iowa City icon and institution. This place has been doing it right for more years than I've been around. The quality and consistency of their food is unmatched. Even when extremely busy, their service is top notch.

The pizza is thin crust. Not impressive food but has a cute interior and nice staff with funny hats. Would not recommend to people of my own volition.
